This year our food drive will again be run through the advisories, and the winning advisory will receive breakfast.  Thank you all for your past help, and your anticipated help this year.  In an effort to increase participation, student council members will go to each advisory and explain our plan.  This year we have asked permission, and received it,  to ask the students in each advisory to take out their cell phones to text themselves a reminder to bring in canned/ nonperishable food.  This should only take  moment, and then the cell phones will be put away.  If you have a problem with our approach to encourage student participation, please email me and student council members will not go into your advisory.

Attention all current NHS members. I apologize for such short notice, but there will be an NHS meeting after school today in the library. Again, this meeting is only for last’s years NHS members, not applicants.

Rhode Island College – Early Enrollment Program
The Rhode Island College – Early Enrollment Program allows students at EWG to be concurrently enrolled at RIC while at EWG and earn college credits for select courses.  Currently, the high school offers concurrent enrollment for its AP U.S. History course; Spanish and French Honors IV and V; and AP Calculus.  Students attended a presentation given by EEP representative Susan Poor on Oct. 26th at the high school and were given materials explaining the benefits, costs, and a list of colleges that have accepted EEP credit in the past.  Interested students in the above-mentioned courses may obtain a registration form from their teacher. The registration period begins Monday, October 31st and ends Friday, November 4th.  If students have any questions, they should see either their teachers or the Onsite Coordinator, Ms. Louise Oliveira, in room 216.
