Congratulations to the Girl’s Volleyball team.  As of October 19th, they are division champions!  Also, congrats to this year’s seniors—Haley Bookbinder, Clare Schroder, Paige Johnson, and Taylor Matook on a victory for their last home game. Good luck at the playoffs!!

There will be an executive board meeting for Friends of Rachel on Monday, October 24th in Room 102. Please make all efforts to attend.

French Students!! Please remember to bring your field trip slips and money as soon as possible!!

Attention all advisories!  Are you up for a challenge while helping out younger children across USA in need?  If so, then you’re in luck.  EWG DECA is holding their 1st ever.  “Kids Stuff USA” drive.  Kids Stuff USA is an organization in which you make and give a shoe-box gift to children in need.  Ages range from 0-6 months, 9-12 months, 2-7 years.  You make the box and DECA will deliver the box for you.  All boxes are due by October 27, 2011.  Advisory with the most boxes will win a pizza party! 

Emily Davis and Dannie Svenningsen won the United Healthcare grow Healthy RI video contest.  They are #1 in the state! Congrats to them.

Seniors – You need to pick your class favorites!!! Categories are:
Class inseparables, Class angels, Most changed, Most musical,
Most likely to get caught texting, Most athletic, Class flirts,
Class cuties,  Most spirited, Best smile,  Best dressed, Most artistic,
Most talkative,  Class clowns, Class  couple, Social butterflies, Most likely to succeed,
 and  Best eyes.  You must pick by next Friday.  Forms are in  the office.

Ski Meeting Wednesday @ 2:00pm in S109.
There will be a VAASA meeting on today, October 18th after school in the library.
There will be a model legislature meeting this Friday at 1:40pm in 216.
Seniors entertainment books or money is due by next Friday. Payments can be made in the office.
The deadline for ski trip deposits has been pushed back to Thursday the 27th.
Attention Voices from high school cast: If you haven’t gotten a copy of the script, please come see John Geyer or Sammy Dallas in the art room afterschool. A rehearsal schedule will be made soon. Stay Gold!!
Attention Juniors: There is a class council meeting on Wednesday in Mr. Krom’s room. Please do your best to attend.
Attention all boys planning to try-out for basketball—There will be an informational meeting on Friday at 10:00am in the auditorium.

Announcing our 6th Annual  EWG Spooktacular!
Friday- October 28th, 2011
Every year the event gets bigger and better! This year we will be offering a movie (for ages 6 and up), a Chamber Singers performance, face painting, pumpkin art for sale, refreshments for sale, art t-shirts, chorus t-shirts, a dramatic performance, a costume contest, a street painting competition (if no rain), and….a pumpkin carving contest!
1:38- 5:59pm Streetpainting Competition! Crosscurricular designs! Scary motifs! Prizes! Come any time to watch our EWG students creating faculty sponsored artwork come to life! (Proceeds go to the Art and Chorus field trip to Universal Studios in Orlando in April)
Location: sidewalk from Senior High Art terrace to High School entrance

1:38- 5:30pm set-up and illumination of carved pumpkins for judging, tables in auditorium (note: designs must arrive completed, we will not be providing a carving workshop). There will be 2 categories for prizes: Elementary and Secondary/Adult

3:30-5:30pm free family movie! “Casper”   Senior High auditorium (popcorn & drinks for sale by POPS)
5:40 pm Performance by the Award Winning EWG Chamber Singers in the HS auditorium presenting new material inspired by the upcoming Harry Potter trip in Orlando
6:00 sharp! Judging of the Streetpainting entries, outside. Awards given in auditorium.
6:20 Costume Contest! There will be 2 categories for prizes: Fantasy and Hogwart Look-alike. Participants will walk across the HS stage. Ages: newborn to 100, any member of the EWG community.

Pumpkin Art Award Prizes an original work of art awarded to best Elementary Artist and best Secondary/Adult Artist

Spaghetti Dinner at Metcalf Saturday November 5th @ 5:30. Tickets can be purchased from any drama student. EWG DRAMAneeds your support. If you liked Christmas Carol and Cinderella please help us continue these outstanding productions for our community! School funding has been cut out completely. Tickets are $10 (or, if you are not able to attend, please consider sending any small donation). OR PERHAPS have your children come and have parent date night out!!! Wonderful kids, wonderful shows. Let’s keep it going...
